ABOUT US
‘’To jump out of cliches, MESMUN is more than just a student activity that serves a specific goal. My first experience started at MESMUN 2021, heedless of what’s in store—the market, finances, academics, debates, everything—and by time it all came full circle by giving time and effort to learn more. Growing within this community enlightened me to serve my own achievements in a fulfilling way, building bridges and establishing an authentic work connection, anticipating the growth and opportunities resulting from a simple network leading to another. MESMUN this year aims to share a lifetime experience of unlocking everyone’s inner voice and expressing and fulfilling their own milestones.’’
‘’Reflecting on my MUN journey, gratitude overwhelms me for the community of passionate individuals and seekers of impact that became more than friends. The experiences enabled me to grow as a person in several aspects, making it an honour to give back to the community through MESMUN—a well-crafted, intellectually stimulating experience. At MESMUN, we view knowledge as a catalyst for change, prioritising the manner in which the knowledge is shared. Our curated content delves into complex global issues through engaging presentations, interactive discussions, lively debates, diverse activities, and much more! Get ready for an unforgettable journey! Throughout the 8 years of MESMUN, we have maintained an environment that goes beyond a conference; it is a family that fosters lifelong bonds, and we are waiting for you to join us in our 9th year and the several more to come!’’
‘’ I am thrilled to welcome you to the 9th generation of MESMUN! It's incredible to think that for 9 years, students have come together to work hard while having fun to achieve something amazing. A week, packed with activities that are both enjoyable and educational, and it's an experience I guarantee you will cherish for a lifetime. As someone who has been a part of MESMUN for 5 years, it holds a special place in my heart. For me, MESMUN has always been a safe space where I can express myself without fear of judgement. It has also helped me develop important soft skills, make new friends, and build connections. One of the things that I admire most about our Model UN is that it's inclusive. So if you're unsure about whether you're good enough to be a delegate (you probably are), I urge you to join us on this exciting journey and not miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.’’
MESMUN is an exciting opportunity for young leaders to debate the most pressing issues of the day and to draft innovative, creative solutions. Delegates will develop several skills throughout this process, including but not limited to: public speaking, negotiation, teamwork, leadership, and policy crafting.
Model United Nations are conferences held by schools, universities and independent organisations worldwide. Model UN is an academic simulation of the United Nations and how it operates to solve global political, environmental, social and economic problems; it enables delegates to understand diplomacy, foreign policy and improve their speaking skills by practice.
Model United Nations conferences are an amazing chance for you to get to strengthen your debate skills, and expand your knowledge.
True to the spirit of the United Nations, MESMUN strives to foster a constructive forum for open dialogue on a range of complex issues, including international peace and security and economic and social progress. We ask delegates to think critically about the world around them and to think in new and ambitious ways. What is the purpose of multilateral organisations like the United Nations? What can they achieve? How do we balance national interests with the interests of the international community? How do we ensure that those with power use it responsibly? What can young people do to affect change in their communities and the world?
MESMUN 2024 builds upon eight years of experience.Having a Top notch academic committee back in 2021, winning the NJC award. In 2015, Modern Education School held its first annual Model United Nations by Mohamed El Beblawy alongside the first highboard consisting of Abdelhamid Tawfik, Dina Hassan, and Ahmed Hemeida. This longevity and the dynamic only a conference of our size can provide make MESMUN the premier simulation of its kind in Egypt. Ever since, a new highboard is recruited yearly to ensure that the legacy lives on.
Even though getting into heated conversations might be fun, MUNs aren’t all about debate. MUNs are about making you a better version of yourself. You’ll get to meet and interact with new people, and possibly make new friends! Developing teamwork and leadership skills is also part of the package, where you’ll need to learn to collaborate with others and take on leadership roles. Joining MESMUN will also help you boost your public speaking skills, confidence, and social skills. In addition to that, you’ll be able to refine your research and analytical abilities, as well as expand your knowledge. In MESMUN, you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the world’s affairs, events, and diverse perspectives. Why not join? Let’s make a difference together!
